
Rafal Siwek - Filippo II
Born in
Poland, Rafal Siwek is a specialist of Verdi's roles including Filippo II in Don
Carlo with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta
and at the Teatro Regio in Turin with Semyon Bychkov; Ramfis in Aida conducted
by Lorin Maazel in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro; Zaccaria in Nabucco at
the Warsaw Opera; Wurm in Luisa Miller in Valencia under Lorin Maazel, at
the Teatro Regio in Parma and at the Teatro Comunale in Modena; Padre Guardiano
in La Forza del Destino at the Lodz Opera (Poland); Silva in Ernani at
the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. Mr. Siwek enjoys a vast concert activity:
Verdi's Requiem in Milan, Venice, Busseto, Casablanca and Jerusalem with
Lorin Maazel and at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Zubin Mehta;
Beethoven's Symphony n.9 in Rome, Milan, Taormina and Brussels with Lorin
Maazel and in Florence with Zubin Mehta; Rossini's Stabat Mater conducted
by Alberto Zedda in Verona; Janàček's Glagolitic Mass at the Prague
Spring Festival, at the Beethoven Festival in Bonn and in Bratislava, Brno and
Linz; Verdi's Requiem, Dvořák's Stabat Mater, Beethoven's Missa
Solemnis, Rossini'sPetite Messe Solennelle, Mozart's Coronation
Mass and Requiem, led by Frans Brüggen, and Bach's Mass in B Minor conducted
by Helmuth Rilling in Warsaw; and Penderecki's Credo conducted by the
composer himself in Riga.

Siwek’s recent engagements it is worth mentioning: Il Trovatore at the
Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence; Boris Godunov (Pimen), Les
Troyens, Rigoletto, Turandot, L'Incoronazione di Pappea,
Don Carlo and Nabucco in Warsaw; Rigoletto in Cagliari; Don
Carlo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan,
where he also performed Die Zauberflöte; a successful Aida staged
at the Caracalla's Baths in Rome; Don Carlo, Aida in Berlin; Don
Carlo, Rigoletto and Eugenij Onegin in Munich; Der Fliegende
Hollaender, Don Carlo and Don Giovanni in Zurich.
Future
